Building a Home Skincare Routine with DMK
In-clinic treatments only do part of the work. DMK's own position is that lasting change comes from combining professional treatments with a DMK Home Prescriptive program: the treatment resets how the skin functions, and the products at home are what hold it there. This guide covers how a DMK routine is built, which products sit in each step, and how to sequence them morning and night.
Why DMK isn't ordinary skincare
DMK is a paramedical skin revision system built on four principles: remove, rebuild, protect and maintain. According to the official DMK Skin Australia site, DMK is the only company using transfer messenger enzymes, and Enzyme Therapy is the base of every DMK treatment, working to oxygenate, detoxify and revise the skin so it functions the way a young, healthy skin does. DMK describes the inside of the skin as a factory, and what you see on the surface as the product that factory is making. Home prescriptives are what keep the factory supplied between appointments.
This is also why DMK is prescribed rather than picked off a shelf. Your therapist matches products to your skin's current condition, then changes them as your skin changes through a course of treatment. Two people with the same concern often end up on different routines.
The four steps of a DMK home routine
- Cleanse: matched to your skin's current state, not the label it was given years ago
- Mist: Herb & Mineral Mist to hydrate and prepare the skin for what follows
- Treat: your concern-specific serum, applied while the skin is still damp
- Protect: moisturiser, plus sun protection every morning without exception
The order stays constant. What changes is which product sits in each slot.
The DMK products we prescribe most
Cleansers
Deep Pore Cleanser is the usual starting point for normal to oily skin. Acu Klenz, a gel cleanser, suits oily and congested skin that is actively breaking out. Milk Cleanser is the gentler cleansing lotion for dry or sensitive skin, and Epitoxyl is a cleansing tonic that works across all skin types. Enbioment Cleanser sits in DMK's microbiome system for skin that needs probiotic support.
Mists and tonics
Herb & Mineral Mist is the workhorse of nearly every DMK routine, a moisture spray for all skin types, used after cleansing and again before serums so the actives that follow absorb rather than sit on the surface. Acu Mist is the oily-skin equivalent, balancing and refreshing, while Aminodine is a rehydrating spray more often prescribed for mature skin.
Serums and treatment actives
- Beta Gel: a potent treatment for problematic, congested and inflamed skin
- Direct Delivery Vitamin C: antioxidant serum for brightness, dullness and environmental protection
- Melanotech Drops: pigment correction serum for dark spots and uneven tone
- Super Serum: multi-action brightening and firming for ageing and pigmented skin
- Revitosin or Revise A: vitamin A products for regeneration and cell renewal
- Firmatrix: recovery serum for damaged or depleted skin
- Pore Reduction Plus: refines pore appearance and helps control sebum
You will not be given all of these. A typical prescription includes one, occasionally two, chosen for the concern you are actively working on.
Oils, moisturisers and protection
Seba-E is a hydrating oil for dry and mature skin, and Herbal Pigment Oil is a softening oil used where hyperpigmentation is the focus. Moisturisers are matched the same way: Acu Crème for oily skin, BetaGen for sensitive, Hydroloc for very dry, Contraderm for irritated skin, Crème Citrique for pigmented skin, Nite Firming for overnight antioxidant support and Pro Amino for neutral skin. Soleil Defence SPF 15 provides daily sun protection.
Specialty and targeted products
Acu Masque is a sulfur mask for congested, oily skin and Acu Therm is a thermal gel for spot treatment. Super Bright is a brightening cream for uneven complexion, Red Vein Crème supports flushed skin with visible capillaries, and Hydrating Masque rescues dry, dehydrated skin. For eyes and lips there is Eye Tone, Eye Web and Fine Line Cream.
A sample DMK routine, morning and night
Morning
- Cleanse with your prescribed DMK cleanser
- Herb & Mineral Mist while the skin is still damp
- Antioxidant or brightening serum, commonly Direct Delivery Vitamin C
- Your prescribed moisturiser
- Sun protection, reapplied through the day if you are outdoors
Evening
- Cleanse, twice if you have worn makeup or sunscreen
- Herb & Mineral Mist
- Your treatment serum: Beta Gel, Melanotech Drops or as prescribed
- Moisturiser, or a facial oil where the barrier needs rebuilding
Introduce new actives one at a time, a few days apart. Adding three at once makes it impossible to tell which one your skin actually liked. Vitamin A products in particular are built up gradually, so start every second or third night.
How home care supports each in-clinic treatment
- After DMK Enzyme Therapy: hydration and protection hold the result, which DMK's FAQs describe as a glow, silky texture and plump appearance lasting on average a minimum of one week, longer with consistent treatments and home care
- After a DMK Prescriptive Peel: barrier support and strict sun protection while the skin turns over
- After Decongest + Purify: anti-bacterial cleansing and sebum control so congestion does not rebuild
- After Transdermal Nutrition: ongoing nutrient support so the infusion has something to build on

What to expect in the first few weeks
A short purge is normal and sits inside the REMOVE phase of the DMK concept: congestion already under the surface coming up before it clears. It usually settles within two to three weeks. If your skin feels tight, stings or flushes, tell your therapist rather than abandoning the whole routine. Nine times out of ten one product needs swapping or spacing out, not all of them.
Have your routine prescribed properly
A DMK routine only works when it matches your skin. Book a complimentary skin assessment with our DMK-trained therapists and we'll map out both the treatment plan and the exact home prescriptives to go with it. There's no obligation to buy on the day. You can also read more about us as an official DMK stockist.
