Large Pores & Uneven Skin Texture

Pores cannot be closed or removed. They can look considerably less obvious when the skin is clear, smooth and well hydrated.

Understanding pore size and surface texture

Pore size is largely genetic. Nobody can permanently close, erase or remove a pore, and any treatment promising to do so is overstating what is possible. What changes is how visible a pore appears.

A pore looks larger when it is holding oil, dead skin and debris, when the surrounding skin is dry or dull, and when the surface is rough enough to scatter light unevenly. Clear that build-up, improve hydration and smooth the surface, and the same pore reads as noticeably smaller.

Texture is a separate but related issue. Rough, grainy or bumpy skin usually reflects a build-up of dead cells, congestion sitting just beneath the surface, or a skin that is not shedding as efficiently as it should. Both respond to consistent professional treatment rather than a single appointment.

If the texture you are seeing is indented or pitted rather than rough on the surface, that is usually scarring rather than pore size. Read about acne scarring

    What you may notice

More visible pores through the T-zone

Particularly across the nose, inner cheeks and chin, where oil flow is highest.

    A rough or grainy feel

Skin that does not feel smooth under your fingertips, even after cleansing.

    Makeup sitting unevenly

Foundation catching on texture or emphasising pores rather than sitting flat.

    Congestion under the surface

Small bumps that are not inflamed breakouts but never fully clear on their own.

    Dullness alongside texture

An uneven surface reflects light poorly, so the skin can read flat as well as rough.

    Change through the day

Pores appearing more obvious by the afternoon as oil builds up.

Soraya's approach to pores and texture

We are upfront about what is achievable. The goal is refinement — clearer, smoother, better-hydrated skin where pores are far less noticeable.

    01

    An honest starting conversation

Your therapist will tell you what is realistic for your skin rather than promising pore removal, which is not something any treatment can deliver.

    02

    Clear the congestion first

Pores that are emptied and kept clear look markedly smaller. Deep-cleansing professional treatment usually comes before anything more intensive.

    03

    Refine the surface

Improving how efficiently the skin sheds and rebuilds smooths the surface, which changes how light sits on the skin.

    04

    Hydration holds the result

Well-hydrated skin is plumper around the pore opening. Homecare matters as much as what happens in clinic here.

    Treatments that may be considered

Most plans for pores and texture combine a decongesting pathway with something that refines the surface.

    DMK Enzyme Therapy

Works with skin function and circulation, commonly used where congestion and sluggish cell turnover sit behind visible pores.

    BioRePeel

A no-downtime option often considered for surface smoothness, clarity and refinement.

    Skin Needling

Considered where texture is more established and the skin would benefit from collagen-focused remodelling.

    Professional Facials & Peels

Regular deep cleansing and resurfacing to keep pores clear and the surface smooth between courses.

Which treatment is right for me?

    Your therapist will weigh:

    • Whether congestion, roughness or oil flow is the dominant issue
    • How reactive or well-supported your barrier currently is
    • Whether texture is surface-level or more established
    • Downtime you can accommodate
    • Your current cleansing and homecare routine
    • Whether you want maintenance or a focused course
